We were staying at a nearby hotel and walked past this restaurant a few times. One evening we were tired and hungry. The staff was so accommodating, even though we didn't have a reservation.
The food was delicious and top quality. The owner/manager (bellisima) was friendly and gracious.
It's definitely worth a visit or two!
Edit: this place was a highlight of our Milan visit.
Terrible experience. First off everything we ate was barely seasoned or overcooked.
Then to make matters 100x worse. The restaurant listed NO allergens in the food. I have a deathly nut allergy and for some reason there were nuts in the ravioli filling??? I couldn’t breathe and the man in charge offered NO help. He basically scolded me and said oh well as I almost died in front of him.
After getting sick in the bathroom, I sat through the rest of the meal with some Benadryl and they gave NO discount, free dessert or EVEN condolences. He didn’t even ask if I was ok.
Instead this putrid man interrogated me and told me I should have mentioned it. Excuse me but every other place I’ve eaten LISTS allergens on their menus.
Worst experience. Awful ownership. Terrible attitudes. Don’t eat here or every look their way.
We had a fantastic time here at LA Mongolfiera. We stumbled across this location after walking to several restaurants that were listed as open but were not. It seemed that, on a particular Wednesday, several places were closed. No big deal, because the staff were extremely pleasant and the food was amazing! The setting was quiet, even though there were several tables full. The prices were considered average for the serving size and atmosphere. There were four people in our party and for drinks, food, appetizer, it came to just over 25 euro each, and we ate a lot of food.
This was the first meal of our three weeks in Italy, and when people ask me what my favorite thing was that I ate on the trip, I mention the mushroom pasta here. It was phenomenal. The pizza was very good too. We didn't have a reservation since I had no clue what time we would be in town, but we were able to get a table outside. Many thanks to the kind server (maybe owner?) who graciously accommodated jet-lagged guests with limited Italian.
This family run restaurant was recomended to us by the hotel we stayed in and we were not disappointed at all. Attentive service, amazing fresh pasta - i opted for the pasta with porcini mushrooms as per recommended👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 Ended the evening with a delicious peach and nutella pie dessert😍😍 Great value for money, authentic experience, would definitely return
One of the best places I've eaten in Milan. Such a nice food and service. The pasta was fantastic. Even the toilet is amazing. Everything so clean.
What a wonderful restaurant. A completely local place. We ordered
- hand-cut Toscana ham,
- ravioli with pumpkin,
- turbot with mushroom and roasted potatoes and
- flank steak with mushrooms.
Absolutely fantastic implementation. The Tuscan ham was amazing. Somewhat reminiscent of the Spanish jamon belotta but thicker cut and with its own delicate taste. The turbot was gentle and delicious. The flank steak was just amazing. Thinly-cut and delicate, it was flavourful; the mushrooms added great texture and taste. The pumpkin ravioli were delicious 😋. Their specially branded house red was spot-on. Great service and wonderful atmosphere. Great sound isolation. Highly recommend.
Amazing! We had a great experience there, very caring, welcoming service with awesome food. The whole restaurant had a terrific vibe, just what we were looking for in Milano. Strongly recommended!
